Extension Board
› HARDWARE OVERVIEW
- The X1202 supports four 18650 lithium batteries, delivering a stable 5.1V at 5A (25W max)—enough to power the Pi 5 and demanding peripherals like SSDs, motors, or multiple sensors during outages. This is tailored for “more power for energy-intensive projects”—think long-running field robots, remote servers, or data loggers where extended runtime (up to 10-12 hours with 3400mAh cells) is critical.
- It features seamless switching to battery on power loss, auto power-on when power restores, and safe software shutdown—key for protecting data and hardware in energy-heavy setups. It also cuts power to an ultra-low standby mode when the Pi shuts down, maximizing battery life for unattended operation.
- Bottom-mounted via pogo pins, it avoids GPIO interference, allowing HAT stacking (e.g., NVMe or robotics shields). This suits complex, energy-intensive builds—like a solar-powered weather station or a multi-device IoT hub—where space and expandability matter.
- It accepts 6-18V via a DC5521 jack or 5V 5A via USB-C, offering versatility for projects with varied power sources (e.g., solar panels or car batteries)—a plus for field deployments.
- Delivers a high-output, reliable UPS solution for setups pushing the Pi 5’s limits—far beyond basic power needs.
› APPLICATIONS
This board is ideal for critical Raspberry Pi 5 applications where power reliability is paramount. It's perfectly suited for remote monitoring systems, outdoor deployments in challenging environments, and mobile robotics projects that require a consistent power supply. The X1202 UPS & Power Management Board enables enthusiasts and professionals to design projects that can withstand power interruptions, such as weather stations, wildlife monitoring cameras, and autonomous drones. Its capability for customization, such as adjusting power management parameters and integrating additional GPIO expansions or wireless modules, opens up possibilities for creating sophisticated, self-sustaining systems that operate in remote or harsh conditions.
