The X630-A5 ATX Control Board is an advanced accessory designed to enable remote power management of ATX-based systems using IPKVM solutions. This board provides an interface between the motherboard’s front-panel header and the IPKVM, allowing for remote control of power and reset functions without compromising the functionality of the physical buttons and status LEDs on the PC case.

This solution is compatible with PC desktops and servers only, as Apple computers do not feature ATX headers. The X630-A5 board ensures efficient signal handling and easy installation, preserving all front-panel features while adding remote capabilities.

How It Works:

  • The X630-A5 is installed between the motherboard’s front-panel header and the case buttons.
  • The board connects to the IPKVM’s ATX control interface through an RJ45-style connector using a standard Ethernet cable.
  • It replicates the signals for power switch, reset switch, power LED, and HDD LED to allow remote control and monitoring.


Technical Breakdown:

  • Power Button Simulation: The IPKVM sends a brief pulse over the RJ45 connection to simulate a physical power button press.
  • Reset Button Simulation: A similar pulse triggers a reset signal on the motherboard.
  • Status Monitoring: Power and HDD activity LEDs provide real-time feedback on the system’s power state and disk activity.
  • Signal Isolation: Ensures that remote operations do not interfere with the physical buttons or LEDs.
